Renovation begins in Fall 2018.
Dear Friends of Gulick Park:
Great news for our neighborhood! After nine years of working with the Parks Department and elected officials to rebuild Gulick Park, we got word that the project for the full park reconstruction will go out to bid next month. If all goes well, a contractor will be selected by March, construction will begin in the fall, and we will have a new park by 2020!
We very much appreciate the community’s participation during the “People Make Parks” process – from putting shovels in the ground for trees and shrubs, to planting thousands of bulbs, from visioning to park cleanup. A special shout out to our friends at Partnership for Parks, Council Member Margaret Chin and her staff, and Community Board 3 for their support. Many thanks to The Lo-Down for keeping the spotlight on our efforts and informing the community with its regular coverage since the very beginning.
