Come make your own summer themed collage with Abrons Arts Center teaching artist Emily Manwaring. Play with vibrant colors and joyous images to create an original masterpiece based on your own unique interpretation of this magical season. All supplies will be provided.
2:30 PM – 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM: West African Dance & Drumming: Session 1 and Session 2
In this high-energy and community-centered session led by Abrons teaching artist Aatifa Drayton, we will explore the rich cultural traditions of West African dance from Mali and Guinea. Accompanied by live drumming played by Desmond Howard, each demo will offer an engaging experience rooted in cultural expression, joy, and connection. Open to all levels and all ages. No prior dance experience necessary. Come ready to dance and most importantly as you are!
