We are excited to announce this fall’s It’s My Park Day events, on Saturday, October 23rd, from 1-4pm. Please save the date!
In keeping with the season, we will feature pumpkin painting and bulb planting, but also face painting, a ping-pong tournament, and more.
The oral history booth we used back in May will be back up and ready to record your memories of the park or your ideas for it’s future. If you participated in May, don’t hesitate to share again; technical difficulties prevented our using some of the earlier recordings.
The Ping Pong Tournament is sponsored by SPiN NYC. They generously donated the grand prize: a 1-year family membership to SPiN NYC–a $900.00 value! Registration details will be forth-coming later this week. We are working on a second table that day for general play.
Items for raffle or silent auction are from Flowers on Essex, UncommonGoods.com, a 1-night stay at the Hotel on Rivington, day-vouchers to the American Museum of Natural History, tickets to up-coming Abrons Arts Center performances, ping-pong paddle sets, and more.
All proceeds from the tournament, other fund raising, and members-only t-shirts will go toward future park beautification, events, and advocacy (membership t-shirts will be available the day of).
As further prizes and activities are confirmed, we will announce in the weeks to come. The rain date is October 24th at the same time.
