Back in October during the ping pong tournament, New Yorker cartoonist Bob Eckstein came by to compete. He also generously donated his book for a fundraising raffle.
Turns out we were part of his mid-life crisis cure!
Last October, I played my first tournament, on a concrete table at Gulick Park on the Lower East Side. I lost in the semifinals and out of the money by 2 points, which I still replay in my head.
Also the flowers are really in full-swing and that can only help one’s mood. Deep purple tulips, new for this year, are just blooming, too. Be sure to stop by.
