It’s My Park Days, Past and Future

A very belated “thank you” to all who made last May’s “It’s My Park Day” a great success. We met many new neighbors—about 200—who beautified the park with flowers, decorated their bikes or cheeks, and otherwise had a great time.

Congratulations go to Yue Chen, the first female victor in three years of ping pong tournaments, and Bing Jun Cao, who took second place.

Pictures of the winners and others are now up.

Thanks, also, to Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and City Council Member Margaret Chin for stopping by to meet the community and support Gulick Park. Finally, thanks to the local organizations and businesses that support the event: SPiNYC, Wally Green, Kaz Yokoyama, Local Spokes, Times-Up NY, Pushcart Coffee, and Franks Bikes.

Please save the date for this Autumn’s “It’s My Park Day”: Sunday, October 21st from 1-4pm. We’re bringing back the very popular pumpkin painting patch! More details to follow.
