MulchFest 2012 !
Saturday, January 7th and Sunday, January 8th 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
On Saturday, Jan 7th and Sunday, Jan 8th, the New York City Parks Department will host the annual MulchFest from 10am -2pm at locations citywide. Bring your holiday tree to one of the designated parks to be recycled into mulch that will nourish plantings across the city or your own garden!
This year, we are encouraging all New York households to help the environment and the community by bringing their trees to our nearest collection site. At the chipping sites, you will have the opportunity to take home your mulch. Remember to remove all lights and decorations before bringing the tree to a MulchFest site!
Mulchfest locations – Lower Manhattan:
Corlears Hook Park, Jackson and Cherry Street at FDR Drive- tree drop off location only
Tompkins Square Park, East 9th St between Avenues A & B – tree drop-off and chipping site (mulch available)
Bowling Green Park ( Saturday only) – Broadway & Whitehall Street, in front of the National Museum of the American Indian – tree drop location and chipping site
Washington Market Park, Fifth Ave and Washington Square north – tree drop location and chipping site
